Serving at Torquay (1979 to 1981), Plymouth Charles Cross (1981 to 1983), Kingsbridge (1983 to 1985) and Dartmouth (1985 to 1987)

Awarded:

  • Chief Constable's Commendation, number of arrests and crimes detected (1980)
  • Finalist, Ada Murran Cup for Community Policing (1985)
  • St John Ambulance meritorious first aid award, saving the life of an extremely fit and violent man who had slashed his wrists (1987)

West Midlands Police, Special Constabulary (1975 to 1979)

Serving at Coventry 'M Division' - Fletchampstead Highway

Awarded:

  • Best Officer at Training Weekend 1977

  • Responsible for the global investigation and successful prosecution of a Polish national who attempted to murder a ship's officer on a container ship in international waters (visit Securewest International Investigations for further details)
  • Facilitating and organising Police maritime training and major incident armed response aboard ships in UK coastal waters
  • Admiralty Marshal, High Court London, arrest and detention of ships in England and Wales (1991 to 2000)
  • Acting on behalf of the Admiralty Marshal, High Court London, successfully negotiated the removal of a hostile ship's crew who threatened to sabotage the ship and release its cargo of oil.
  • Armed anti piracy response off the coast of Somalia
  • Whilst in Darjeeling, India, investigated thefts from hotel bedrooms resulting in the offender (a member of staff) being caught and interviewed, during which he admitted numerous thefts and was dismissed.
