The fundraising weekend organised by John Casson and held at The Cricket Inn, Beesands, South Devon from Friday 7th to Monday 10th November 2008 was a huge success.

Hundreds of people came to enjoy local and freshly produced food, enjoy live music, buy goods and enter a great raffle.

On the Saturday afternoon there was a wine tasting with canapés, the Red Bullets were the featured band in the evening. On Sunday the lunchtime roast proved very popular as did the local band Filthy Gorgeous who played live in the evening.

Those who enjoy food were not disappointed on the Monday evening when award winning Chef Michael Caines MBE from Gidleigh Park prepared a special dinner for over fifty people.

Just under forty volunteers helped over the four days to serve drinks, prepare and serve food and sell merchandise and raffle tickets. Over fifty people made up seventeen separate acts and gave up their time to entertain guests. Hundreds of pounds worth of food was donated, lots of quality raffle prizes given.

And what was the result? In total £19,369.72 was raised for the Devon Air Ambulance, a service for Devon for all of those in Devon.
